August is upon us, and rather than lament the ever dwindling number of Summer Fridays left, we're going full party mode, picnic-ing and pickling our way to the end of the season. 

And while we're all about embracing vacation mode  (the "out of office" message may be the single greatest sanity saver ever) it's worth remembering that, for many, these past weeks and months have been arduous to say the least, and that there are ways to make a difference, even from the sun deck.
