COOK SPACE FRIDAY FEELS | Steak, Soda Bread + Ceviche - what's whetting our appetite this upcoming March
Though it may be the shortest, February is arguably one of the toughest months to get through - but whether we've been trying to pinch some pennies or navigating the fluctuating weather patterns, we've found solace in food, friends (and many evenings in fuzzy slippers!) With March just around the corner we're turning our attention to some exciting new classes that have been carrying us through the soggy streets (along with the many cups of coffee).
And to round out the month, we're pretty pumped up about a little (read: BIG) podcast interview of our founder over on the Cherry Bombe Podcast at Heritage Radio!!! Way to slay, Michelle!!
THE HOTTIE WORTH HEARING
Our sensational Founder and inspiration in all things professional and passionate, Michelle Mannix, is the guest on one of our absolute favorites, The Heritage Radio Podcast, from Cherry Bombe. Listen in as she discussesreinvention and intention and the trials that accompany an entrepreneurial spirit.
THE DAIRY DAMAGE
In this week’s NYTimes climate newsletter, we learn that meat might not be the main culprit when it comes to negative environmental footprint and find a new climate focussed (comedic!) podcast, “Mothers of Invention”
THOUGHTS FROM A NEW YORK CITY FOOD TITAN
Though he may have passed on last year, the words of diner legend Kenny Shopshin live on.
BRINGING NEW MEANING TO “BINGE-WATCHING”
As if we didn’t already have too many choices on TV, Bon Appetit has just launched its brand new steaming channel. Later, social life.
WHERE WE’RE SEEKING EATS AND ENLIGHTENMENT
As we gear up for our Latin American Street Food class, we’re exploring some of NYC’s most more-ish Mexican meals, at City Tamale (and adjusting our recipes accordingly!)
IS SHARING REALLY CARING?
The do’s and don’ts of first date dining etiquette, according for Bon Appetit. (No need to worry about stealing from your partner’s plate at our Steakhouse Favorites: Date Night Dinner class - we’ll have plenty of food to go around!)
A GODDESS WE CAN GET BEHIND
As one of the first “celebrity chefs” to encourage people to forgo the food fads and simply cook “what will taste good”. Nigella Lawson has been beating eggs and breaking hearts for over two decades now. Now she’s hoping to breach the “buxom kitchen babe” stereotype.
A HUNGRY NATIONAL HERITAGE
On the heels of our delicious and stirring Origins of Southern Soul Food Class with Chef Denzell Washington this past Tuesday, we’re taking time to remember some of the most influential African-Americans in Food History.
THE SHOW WE’RE SALIVATING OVER
We’ve expressed our borderline inappropriate obsession with Killing Eve and Fleabag creato, Phoebe Waller-Bridge many ties in this newsletter - so it will come as now surprise that we’re freaking out about her upcoming NYC performance in the play that inspired her show, Fleabag.
AND OTHER ACTORS WE’RE OGLING
It’s the Oscars this Sunday, and while we can’t don designer gowns or achieve an award worthy crying-but-still-beautiful acceptance expression, we can watch others do it at the historic Metrograph (and get a little tipsy doing so)
