COOK SPACE FRIDAY FEELS | Meals Like Mama Made

Let’s face it, mothering can be a bit of a thankless job (albeit, they say, the best). And though a mere 24 hours isn’t nearly enough time to express our infinite gratitude for bringing us into the world, and putting up with us while we’re in it, we’ll take every opportunity we can get. If we’re fortunate enough to spend some time this weekend with the women who raised us, as so many aren’t, we’re showing our love on the plate and in the kitchen - be it whipping up a Mediterranean feast or sharing sweet treats in our Summer Fruit spotlight class, we’re serving up each dish with a side of serious admiration.

So, to each and every mother out there, whether we’re linked by genetics or simply good fortune, we say thank you, thank you thank you.

MASTERING MAN LOVE

In a time where toxic masculinity has been thrust into the spotlight and as  we work towards raising a male generation with greater emotional intuition, men still wrestle with expressing love to one another.

WHAT MOM REALLY WANTS

Rather than the “quality time” spent with her offspring that she claims to covet, your mother would really prefer that pagan artisan seashell tray to put jewelry in

SEAFOOD CITY

Until we can get our claws on the glorious chain that is Legal Sea Foods here in NYC, we’ll be creating our own crustacean celebrations with our Lobster Boil and our Oysters + Rose Summer Friday Special

MOM MAKES IT BETTER

In Priya Krishna’s stunning cookbook “Indian-ish” she recreates the beautiful blend of traditionally Eastern dishes with contemporary Western ingredients, based on her mother’s recipes.

WHAT WE’RE JAMMING TO

In her beautiful ode to her artistic predecessors, Jamila Woods’ new album “Legacy! Legacy!” delivers affirmations with telltale eloquence.

GOING WITH THE FOOD FLOW

When the day just gets away from you and you need a little din-spiration for you and your loved ones, this handy flowchart proves you can make a magical meal out of whatever’s handy, no questions asked. To curate your kitchen creativity, why not join us at our Market to Table class on June 1st - you’ll get to pick your favorite seasonal produce on a glorious greenmarket excursion, before popping back to the studio to whip up some delicious dishes, all without recipes!

COCKTAIL CONTROVERSY

Given the uproar unleashed after one NYTimes reporter’s opinion on the apérol spritz, it’s apparent that it is, in fact, a delicious summer staple

THE ALLURE OF AIRPLANE MODE

One businessman’s advice….to single moms.

POWER BREAKFAST

While we can’t necessarily match the appetite of this diner and his ten egg breakfast, we can promise a feast to make him jealous at our Eggs-cellent Brunch on June 9th.

CULTURALLY CANTANKEROUS

The problem with an over-populated “must-read” feed.

HUMOR IN HEARTACHE

As we mark our calendars for the June 5th return of the second season of Big Little Lies, Laura Dern shares insight into her extraordinary career, shunning stereotype in search of nuance in each and every role.

WHAT WE’RE LISTENING TO

You can catch us on our commutes this week trying to control our chuckles atHeads Will Roll, a ten episode fantasy comedy created by SNL’s Kate McKinnon and her sister Emily Lynne (keep an ear out for the star-studded cast of narrators, including Meryl Streep, Peter Dinklage and Aidy Bryant).
