COOK SPACE FRIDAY FEELS | Love Is Love

Info Cook Space

cook-space-pride-month.jpg

Living in New York, it can be easy to forget how fortunate we are to be part of a city that, though it still has ways to go, not only celebrates the LGBTQ community, but aims to champion it. It is a privilege, therefore, to dedicate this month to this vital and vibrant community, without which the concrete jungle would be all dark hues and hard edges.

For the fierceness you posses, the fabulousness you provide, and the freedoms you continue to pursue for all those marginalized for something as simple as reserving the right to love whomever you love, we salute you.

PEACHY KEEN

This upside down cake, featuring one of our favorite fruits of all time is making us wish July would hurry up and get here already so we can host our Summer Fruit Spotlight class

A TALE OF TWO KITCHENS

Gabriela Cámara, the certifiable queen of Mexican cuisine, is heading the pack of strong, successful female chefs getting recognition this year and we couldn’t be happier. We too, will be taking our taste buds south of the border at our Taste of Mexico class.

DAD DONUT DATE

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to say I love you than with some sweet treats at our Donut Making Workshop.

REMEMBERING ANTHONY

In the year since his death, countless outpourings of confusion, heartache, but most of all admiration and love have been issued and a new spark of energy around how we approach mental health has been ignited - one thing’s for certain, the world simply isn’t the same without Anthony Bourdain.

OPERATION MELTDOWN

Looks like this summer in the city is going to be a particularly steamy one, what with the crack down on 34 ice cream trucks seized this past week for parking violations. Save yourself the queue for the remaining Mister Softees on the street and join us at our Ice Cream Making workshop on June 27th.

THE FUTURE OF FOOD

What an increasingly aggressive climate crisis means for our food systems.

THE WONDER OF WASHING UP

Craving that clean plate induced calm.

FOOD BEFORE FUSION

Can’t get a reservation at the hot new Japanese - Caribbean fusion restaurant Mo’s Original ? Then join us at our Sushi Making class or our Caribbean Feast for a more foreign feast with a little more focus.

WEEKENDS A LA KING

Professional eater Adam Rapoport waxes poetic on one of our favorite spots and on the Saturday dinner vs. Sunday lunch debate(we’re firmly in the latter camp, if you couldn’t tell by our roster).

WHAT’S LINING OUR BOOKSHELVES

We’re toting these tomes along with our towels to the beach this summer.

PALE ALES + PRIDE

Three’s Brewing has pretty impressive roster for Pride Month this year, including tonight’s Queer First Friday, and a comedy, burlesqueWorld Pride Variety show on Sunday. We’re taking inspiration from their hopped up festivities for our own Beers + Bratwurst happy hour on July 19th, part of our Summer Friday Series.

FINANCING A FOOD DREAM

With so many harboring dreams of opening their ideal eatery, it’s worth discussing the blood, sweat, tears and yes, money, that goes into one.

A SUMMER FOR SHELLFISH

Even if you can’t make it to our New England Clambake this month, here’s how you can build your own badass seafood platter
