Frequently Asked Questions
How is Cook Space different from other cooking schools?
Cook Space classes are carefully curated to replicate the experience of cooking in one's own home. We provide a relaxed and intimate environment for guests to feel welcome, inspired, and emboldened to experiment. We like to encourage students to create their meals without the constraints of a recipe, instead developing confidence in the kitchen through understanding how to balance certain flavors and why we use specific techniques for particular steps throughout the cooking process.
What do I need to bring to class?
Enthusiasm and an appetite! Our classes are BYOB so feel free to bring along your beverage of choice. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes if possible, but if you’re a pro at cooking in your silks and stilettos go for it.
How many students are in each class?
We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions. However, some classes are more challenging to revise and amend. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm if it’s possible for us to adjust the curriculum to meet your needs.
What is the age minimum?
We think that most classes are suitable for your teen. However, we request that all students under 18 attend with a guardian or chaperone. Tickets must be purchased for everyone in attendance.
What is your cancellation policy?
It takes a lot of work to put on classes. All classes are final sale. We have a strict 72 hour cancellation policy for credit towards future classes. Classes may be transferred to friends and family.
Do you do private classes?
Yes! For more information on our private class and event offerings, please contact us at email@example.com.
What’s the difference between private classes and public classes?
Our public classes are a way for students to engage with their community and find collective nourishment through the intimate act of cooking. Private classes are designed to have a personally selected curriculum and curated experience with a Cook Space instructor.
What’s the difference between private CLASSES and private EVENTS?
Private classes are an affordable way for guests to be students and be responsible for preparing the food that their group will enjoy. Curriculum is determined by the instructor. However, we do account for dietary preferences and restrictions. Private events are tailored by the guests from menu to atmosphere.
Do I have to take the Culinary Confidence Series in its entirety?
No! The 10-week series can be broken up into 5-week segments or taken as one-off classes as well.
Do you offer vegetarian classes?
Absolutely! We offer classes for a range of dietary preferences and offer courses specifically focused on cooking produce-based meals, all of which can be found on our class page. Click here.
